JB&L Customs
Jonathan Bowen owns and operates JB&L Customs in Wilmington, NC, and we were fortunate enough to shoot elements of the London Taxi restoration, as seen in this video! It took several weeks, waiting for the various stages to be completed. But worth every minute! We hope you enjoy the video. Jon is a true pro, you can find out more about him here:

ARAMARK
This was a video edited in less than 17 hours. It was screened at the Florida Aquarium ahead of the ACE National awards ceremony. We shot on two Canon T2I cameras using a glide cam rig and Cineslider. The landscape time-lapse was taken from my balcony, recording stills once every minute on a Ricoh Caplio GX100. I hope you enjoy the video, we had a blast working with the Aramark team!

Featherlite Coaches
It is truly amazing to witness craftsmanship at the Featherlite Coaches level. I was fortunate enough to document elements of the process over several weeks, some of the custom engineered components are simply breathtaking. I hope you enjoy the video, however nothing beats standing inside a finished product.

Final Words
It has been an amazing journey. A few months ago, I didn’t know what to expect from my time here with IMECUS. I have learned so much about the real world and myself that I will use for the rest of my life.
As my last post, I will reiterate the message that I hope I have been conveying to you for the past semester.
What we are creating here at IMECUS isn’t just a product. It is a passion. A product would be the same thing for anyone to buy: Cheap. Fast. Mass-produced.
IMECUS isn’t built upon such an unstable foundation. It is built upon the enthusiasm we have to create for YOU! I actually was able to create a product called, “time flies when you are having fun.” It is a time-lapse video production concept that was inspired by a radio advertisement for a particular restaurant. The project is a short video that shows time-lapse footage on the busiest night of a restaurant or hospitality establishment. The great thing about the video is that it can apply to many different companies while highlighting the establishments unique flair at the same time.
We take our inspiration and create based on YOU. IMECUS doesn’t create for the unknown customer. We create for the people we make connections with. We actively engage to create a unique story. The reason I have emphasized the “story” this past semester is because it is what makes connections.
Businesses need to connect with their customers. Customers need to connect with the products. We don’t need guarantees. We don’t need special offers. We don’t need mass-production. We want reliable, intimate, unique experiences. We want a story.
With that being said, I have learned the value of the quality experience I want with a product. As an intern, I have been very satisfied with the quality of my experience with IMECUS. Please feel free to connect with me about my internship at IMECUS or marketing experience in general through my blog.
I hope the next intern picks up where I left off. Thanks for being so loyal. And stay in touch with IMECUS!

Invention vs. Art
Have you ever seen a pickle-picker-upper? If you haven’t then here is your first one:
A bit odd, but this is something that you use to grab pickles out of the jar. You just grab your pickle jar and then got to the drawer and grab your pickle-pickle-upper. It makes you think, what a great invention… or is it?
My family had one of these devices and we marveled at its novelty for a time. After a few months or so we were taking pickles out of the jar the way we always did, either with a fork or your fingers. So I ask, what constitutes a good invention? Is the pickle-picker-upper? Or, has it not been invented yet?
We create in order to change and move our world. When we create something that solves a small issue, that isn’t art. It’s a fix. The art lies in creating something that is beyond the problem. Invention is usually inspired by a problem or issue. The challenge comes into making it art.
While the pickle-picker-upper is clever, it is not art. It did not change the way I get my pickles out of the jar, it just gave me another option. Facebook changed the way we connect and advertise. Tablet computers change the way we use technology. Ipod changed the way we listen to music. Revolutions were made, not just mere inventions.
This is important because just like the pickle-picker-upper, IMECUS is looking for more than to solve a quick fix. We are here to take what you are asking for and create a new way of looking at something. Marketing is agressive and always moving and IMECUS is ahead of the pack. We are always create with passion that will result in more than the quick fix.
As for the pickle-picker-upper, maybe you can find the art in redesigning the pickle jar. Maybe there is a way to get the pickle without a tool or getting your fingers soggy. We just might leave that for the pickle experts to figure out.
Click the link below and tell me if David Beckham hit three trashcans from 60 yards away. Then read the rest of this blog post to find out the answer.
Beckham Pepsi Ad… Real or Fake?
So what do you think? Did he make it? Did he really hit three trashcans from 60 yards away, all in a row? There was no awkward cuts in the video to seem like it was fake. If you go back and watch just Beckham you can see that it is completely fluid motion. Along with the people in the background, they react as if he hit it as well. Do you want to know if it is real or not?
Here is the answer: It doesn’t matter.
You have all become part of the experience that Pepsi is creating. Pepsi allegedly was shooting a commercial with David Beckham and in an off-camera moment, made a bet with the cameraman. It doesn’t matter whether he actually made it or not. All you are thinking about is whether or not he did and how clever this advertisement truly is.
At IMECUS, we are striving for the same feelings. We brainstorm and come up with the art that best suit your product. Advertisement and video has hit a new level of creativity in order to attract new customers and that is what we are all about. Please take a look at the Blue Moon Gift Shop ad for an example of how we are becoming more and more innovative in our video production techniques.
Whether or not he really made it, I am sure you can search for the answer. But, if you are looking for a company that understand the message and meaning, look no further. IMECUS has the highest sense of creativity and your needs.

Customer Centered Experience
I take an integrative marketing communications course at UNCW. One major aspect of IMC is a customer centered experience. An experience that is tailored made toward those your interact with the most.
The customer centered experience is the connection that all consumers have under one product. The feeling you get when you watch that one commercial. The positive feeling you get about a paid service. That is the customer centric experience.
I write on this subject because I think we forget that if a customer experience isn’t created, then it will be made for you. Each product made, all conversations, every interaction all are part of the experience. We at IMECUS strive for a specific type of experience. The experience that we are constantly making a connection to your product or service. We strive to create that connection while maintaining fun and entertainment. We are committed to making it pain-free and fun while delivering high quality. That is what we indebted to… YOU! To find out more as always visit, IMECUS!

Call to Action
We all hear the messages from advertisers. One of them is a call to action. The message they use to provoke you to buy their product or act for your benefit as well as their own.
The old way we used to do it is gone. The old television commercials saying, “call now” and “buy now” don’t wor anymore because no one is listening during the commercial breaks. If anything we now skip them because digital recording devices have made it easy to skip over them.
In a recent article, eMarketer explained how Blackberry used an online video with NHL.com. The video highlighted the Blackberry Messenger app in order to gain a brand awareness for Blackberry while promoting NHL pre game show. The article explains that the video content was key in targeting their demographic of men age 18 – 34. The key to their online video is by providing information that you cannot find elsewhere.
This is why video advertisement has failed in the last decade. Commercials don’t need to provide information on specific deals or numbers. Websites and other streams of information provide that now. Video needs to be used to tell the story. Video is not the awareness and pitching it once was. We here at IMECUS understand that no matter how long a video is, it must bring something else to the brand.
Today’s call to action is not the same as the ones of the past. The call to action is linked directly to the depth of the story. NHL.com and Blackberry have used each other to develop a strong story to engage their customers. They used each other to develop an innovative call to action. That is what it takes to sell in today’s market. IMECUS understands exactly what it takes.
